Wesley Apartments is owned by Parramatta Mission; a not-for-profit charitable organisation which provides services for the most disadvantaged people in our community. Parramatta Mission dates back to 1821, with services focused on helping people facing crisis, people who are homeless and people living with mental illness.
The cost associated with staying at Wesley Apartments is kept as low as possible. By increasing donations to this cause it is hoped that one day Parramatta Mission can afford to purchase and make more accommodation of this type available to families.
The crew of HMAS Parramatta has taken Wesley Apartments on as its charity. The commander and some of his crew attended the opening in March 2010 and have visited each year since. Some of the crew themselves have experienced having a child in at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and therefore understand the importance of what Wesley Apartments provides. HMAS Parramatta have made considerable donations which have helped greatly with such things as an outdoor BBQ and undercover area.
